BR2-7 The story of football

P.19 '' Hey, please pass me a ball''
In old days, football was as if basketball. The ancient Chinese made balls that were stuffed with goat fur. I can't believe it. I think the ball can't bound. They weren't sportsmen, and they were soldiers, who booted the ball into a tiny net hanging high above them. Can you image? Next, the Roman army also trained with footballs. Their game involved running with ball and kicking it over the other team's line. Football really took off in Britain. Many people think the Romans introduced it there too. What was football? I laughed it. I know present football because former football was strange. In the 19th century, smal;ler teams of boys began to play to football in schools throughout Britain. Is this football gentlemanly sport? I say '' No'' Not yet!! Of course, soccer had rules. But former soccer didn't have it. As teams, now of 11 men, played more games, they began to organize themselves into set positions. Soccer is very good sport. I love soccer. Today, football matches still arouse incredible passion. Over 240 million people play in teams around the world-that's in every 25 pople on the planet. So wherever you are, you're never far from someone kicking a ball.
